Bloom Social Responsibility Statement

At Bloom Funding, social responsibility is more than just a commitment; it’s an integral part of our operations, company culture, and our purpose-driven mission. We are dedicated to creating a workplace where decency, wellness, and community engagement are at the forefront of everything we do.

Currently, we are focusing on the following initiatives:

Employee Well-Being at Bloom

Biannual Town Hall Open Forums: To promote transparency and inclusive decision-making practices, we are establishing a biannual town hall. These open forums provide a platform for all employees to voice ideas, concerns, and suggestions, ensuring that each team member has an opportunity to shape Group RRSP: This year we initiated a Group Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) to help our employees secure their financial future. By providing this benefit, we aim to enhance financial well-being and support long-term stability for our team members Bucket List Fund: We are excited to launch the "Bucket List" Fund to support our employees' wellness in addition to existing benefits packages. This initiative aims to help our team members achieve their personal dreams and aspirations outside of work.

Community Contributions

Employee Volunteering and Community Contributions: We have developed a policy to encourage and support employee volunteering and community contributions. Employees are entitled to up to 20 hours of paid Community Engagement Time per calendar year during company time. This initiative empowers our team to give back to the communities we work with and make a meaningful difference. Reconciliation: Bloom Funding operates on the traditional and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq, and Peskotomuhkati peoples. We recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing process and everyone has a role to play, including us. We are particularly committed to better understanding Indigenous resource stewardship principles and considering how Indigenous frames of knowledge can inform our own environmental and social sustainability practices. We have pledged to make annual donations to an Indigenous organization and, in accordance with TRC Call-to-Action 92, will implement annual educational opportunities for our team to increase awareness and understanding of the lasting impacts of settler-colonialism in our area.

Environmental Sustainability

Hybrid & Remote Work: We hold memberships for team members at ConnexionWorks, a co-working space that shares office resources and we provide remote work options for team members. Engaging with Sustainable Partners: At Bloom, we actively seek partnerships and clients who are committed to advancing sustainable initiatives. By collaborating with organizations dedicated to environmental and social responsibility, we aim to foster a network of change-makers driving positive impact in their communities.

Investments toward systemic change

Supporting the Decency Foundation: In partnership with the Decency Foundation, we have developed NuMetric, a comprehensive tool to help businesses measure and improve their social and environmental impact. We're dedicating 18% of our revenue from NuMetric to the Decency Foundation. This investment will support vital programs aimed at creating a more equitable, compassionate, and sustainable society.

We are committed to sustainable practices, community engagement, and fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes the well-being of our employees and the broader community toward a more sustainable and inclusive future.
